Looking for Machine Feeder Operate jobs in Alabaster where dependable work keeps production moving? This opportunity lets you operate manufacturing equipment, monitor product quality, and help produce consistent results in a safe, fast-paced production environment. The Machine Feeder is responsible for keeping production equipment supplied with the materials needed to maintain an efficient production flow. This position works as part of a production team and may rotate between duties such as feeding materials into machine pockets, catching finished products, inspecting for quality, bundling, and preparing completed materials for the next stage of production.
Education Requirements High school diploma or GED preferred. Technical training or manufacturing education is beneficial.
Experience Requirements Experience operating manufacturing or production equipment. Ability to read work instructions, production schedules, and basic technical documentation. Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to monitor equipment for proper operation. Ability to perform quality inspections and maintain production standards. Commitment to workplace safety, attention to detail, and dependable attendance.
Job Duties Load paper inserts, promotional materials, or other production materials into designated machine pockets. Prepare materials by jogging, fanning, bending, or separating them to ensure proper machine feeding. Monitor machine operation to identify issues such as skipped, doubled, or incorrectly inserted materials. Clear minor jams and reset equipment as directed. Catch completed products from the production line and organize them into neat bundles. Inspect materials for quality issues, defects, missing pieces, doubles, or skips. Bundle, strap, and prepare finished materials according to production requirements. Verify piece counts and ensure the correct materials and versions are being used. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Follow all company safety policies, quality standards, and production procedures. Communicate machine or quality concerns to the Lead, Crew Leader, or Supervisor. Assist with meeting daily production goals and deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications Previous machine operation, manufacturing, production, or industrial experience is preferred. Experience performing machine setup, tooling changes, troubleshooting, or preventative maintenance is beneficial. Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, quality systems, or continuous improvement practices is considered an asset. Individuals who demonstrate mechanical ability, reliability, teamwork, and a commitment to quality are well positioned for success as a Machine Feeder Operate.
Physical Capabilities Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive production tasks throughout the shift. Ability to lift materials, components, or finished products weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to safely operate manufacturing equipment while maintaining awareness of moving machinery. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment and work safely in a manufacturing environment.
