Cardinal O’Hara High School is looking for a dedicated full-time Social Studies teacher for our co-educational Catholic high school. The successful candidate will have strong curriculum development skills and an ability to foster creativity in students; a broad knowledge in all aspects of Social Studies content and instruction and classroom management techniques; and the ability to integrate faith and Catholic social teaching throughout the curriculum. Core Responsibilities The ability to establish positive, appropriate and faith-based relationships with students. Develop lesson plans and instructional materials that meet the school’s curriculum goals as well as the individual needs of each student. Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom. Evaluate student’s academic and social growth, keep appropriate records, and prepare reports relating to student’s progress. Communicate with parents, if applicable, through conferences and other means to discuss student progress and interpret the school program. Identify student needs and cooperate with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve problems that may arise. Participate in faculty and department meetings.
