General Maintenance Worker - Roanoke, VA
Federal O&M Contractor seeking full-time General Maintenance Worker for long term employment opportunity within the Roanoke, VA Federal Building and US Courthouse. Must have 3+ yrs recent performance exp. in commercial or industrial facilities maintenance services. Incumbent will be responsible to perform general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, refrigeration and electrical work.
Must be able to demonstrate ability to communicate well with constituents, be self-motivated, conscientious, hardworking & honest and to work independently. Must be willing to submit to Federal Security background check. Full-time permanent, vacation, holidays, Insurance, 401K. Additional details to be discussed at time of interview. Position is part of a CBA and requires membership with Union.
Work will also include:
Replace light fixture tubes; replace filters; clean mechanical spaces; repair electrical outlets, switches, fixtures and motors; repair walls, doors, windows, and ceilings; repair or replace sinks, water coolers, toilets, and faucets; touch-up painting on equipment and structures; replace damaged paneling and floor tiles; repair or replace doors, hardware, and locks; repair or replace concrete and masonry; perform general maintenance on equipment and machinery; and other maintenance activities.
Employee responsible for own transportation.
