This results-oriented job requires a solid understanding of mainframe subsystems in a large scale IBM Parallel SYSPLEX environment. The primary functions of this role are: Install, upgrade, and manage CICS/MQ environments using SMP/E Provide Tier-3 support for the IBM Z Mainframe z/OS environment Install and maintain third party software products related to CICS/MQ Responsibilities Planning hardware and system software upgrades and changes in configuration Testing and evaluating IT vendor products. Reviewing IT vendor literature to identify product deficiencies, workarounds, and scheduled patches/updates. Identifying opportunities to improve system and application performance, including automating manual system tasks Monitoring and resolving automated system alerts/alarms that indicate system functions were not completed within established service levels Conducting root cause analysis to identify and resolve complex problems impacting IT infrastructure Training system operators and application programmers Assuring compliance to required standards, procedures, guidelines, and processes Writing documentation, including policies and procedures. Adding, updating, and closing records in the Incident Management, Problem Management and Change Management databases (ServiceNow).Qualifications We are looking for someone with strong marketing and communications background to create a campaign for the Meeting Experience program for general audiences and targeted communications for stakeholder and executive audiences Experience with planning and creating a training program for end users is a plus. Qualifications z/OS concepts and utilities including TSO/ISPF, JES2, JCL, etc. z/OS software installation using SMP/E CICS concepts and utilities including RDO/DFHCSDUP, DFHSIT, PLT, etc. SYSPLEX concepts including Coupling Facility (CF) structures, CICSplex topology (TOR/AOR/FOR), CICS Dynamic Routing, etc. z/OS performance monitoring, reporting, and tuning. Utilizing system monitors (BMC MainView) and analyzing SMF records (SAS/MXG). z/OS Security (ACF2) and Networking (TCPIP, VTAM)
