Production Cabinet Maker - Miami | Publix Super Markets, Inc.The purpose of this position is to coordinate and produce cabinets/fixtures for divisional retail stores, warehouses and offices. The Cabinet Maker is responsible for reading blueprints, designing and creating cut sheets for cabinet/fixture production, training new associates, executing the direction of Facility Services Production leadership and participating in cost savings activities as needed. This position is also responsible for maintaining and operating all Cabinet Shop tools and equipment. The impact this position has on Publix carries long and short term financial and service consequences. If this position is performed well, Publix will spend the correct amount of money for timely, well-built millwork for our retail locations to execute our strategy. Furthermore, when this position is performed well our associates and customers will be protected from injury due to poorly built cabinets and millwork and our associates will have a reduced risk of injury from in-house machinery and tools. If this position is not performed well, Publix will spend too much for poor quality and possibly not have the internal workforce working towards our strategic objectives. Primary Responsibilities:Manufacturing store and office fixtures while optimizing raw materials using equipment within the Cabinet Shop and utilizing batching techniquesReading blueprints, designing and creating cut sheets to generate optimal yield for cabinet/fixture productionCollecting data and entering them using SAP Process OrdersCoordinating special requests and stock items requestsAssisting with the training of new associatesMaintaining equipment within the Cabinet ShopInitiating and helping with cost saving initiativesRequired Qualifications:High school diploma or its equivalent.At least two (2) years of experience building cabinets, carpentry work, in a production environment or equivalentKnowledge of construction specification documents and plansKnowledge of production equipment and toolsAbility to prioritize projects or initiatives and plan labor efforts and materialsAbility to multi-task and handle large amounts of work effectively and efficientlyAbility to resolve customer needs and optimize efficienciesBasic knowledge of Microsoft Office; Word, Outlook, ExcelExcellent communication skills; both verbal and writtenWillingness to work a varying schedule; including nights, holidays and weekends when requiredPreferred Qualifications:Four (4) or more years of experience building cabinets, carpentry or equivalentKnowledge of retail designs, equipment, millwork and operationsMechanical knowledgeIntermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office; Word, Outlook, ExcelKnowledge of Publix StrategyKnowledge of CQI MethodologiesKnowledge of Retail Store OperationsKnowledge of Facilities organization structure and departmental processesKnowledge of company and departmental policiesHours of Work: 4:45am - 3:15pm; Monday - ThursdayFrequency of Pay: WeeklyMinimum Base Pay: 23.40Maximum Base Pay: 32.25Potential Annual Base Pay: 48,672 - 67,080Year End Bonus: To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November. In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week's pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check.
