Summary/ObjectiveThe Assistant Project Manager (APM) contributes and supports the planning and execution of Projects. The APM supports Project Managers in the planning, management, project completion and financial outcome of assigned Projects. The APM should be able to manage day-to-day Project activities, identify and ensure prompt resolution of issues, and work together with the Project Team to ensure the Work is proceeding on schedule, within budget and according to contract requirements and specifications. Evans General Contractors, LLC is looking to hire a traveling APM that will report to the Alpharetta, GA office.Duties and ResponsibilitiesManage day-to-day Project activities under supervision of the Project ManagerPerform tasks such as preparing invoices, estimates, scheduling meetings, etc.Keep track of and report on project progressAssists in the preparation of daily, weekly and monthly reports detailing the status of the ProjectAssist in the development of cost estimates of assigned ProjectsSolicit and obtain bids from subcontractors and material suppliersSupport efforts to expedite prompt processing of invoices and prompt payment through to subcontractor for amounts dueAssist in the preparation of change proposals, negotiate, execute and/or issue change orders to subcontractors and prepare revisions to the master cost breakdown as a result of change orders and management revisionsAssistant Project Managers may be assigned to work on-site at the Project(s)Assist Project Manager and Superintendent with the supervision and managing of field activitiesCommunicate with Superintendent and Project Manager about delays and other issues that must be communicated to OwnerMaintain good relationships with the Owner, Architect, Engineers, Subcontractors and Suppliers involved with the projectAssist with preparing the job start-up and close-out checklistsOther duties as assignedOther Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Science or Civil EngineeringMinimum of 1-3 years of experience in commercial construction industryStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to build and maintain strong working relationshipsSelf-starter with a high degree of personal responsibility and integrityMust be able to work in a field construction environment which includes walking in rough terrainAbility to work in adverse weather conditionsAbility to travel long distances, depending on assigned project(s) locationAbility to work more than 40 hours a week and weekend assignmentsDetail oriented
