Actuarial InternWoodmenLife is looking for an Actuarial Intern to join our team. The Actuarial Intern assists with a variety of actuarial functions by providing support that will help the Actuarial division meet daily objectives. This is accomplished through exposure to the planning, execution, and evaluation stages of various work projects and initiatives, to gain workplace experience in the insurance industry and Actuarial field.Our 10-week Summer Internship Program Mission strives to foster a dynamic and innovative work environment by integrating interns who bring fresh perspectives and skills to our organization, contribute to value added work, and enhance our talent pipeline. Apply today to learn more!We are looking for someone to:Performs work related to life insurance and annuity Product Development, Inforce Management, or Valuation, as assigned by management.Gains broad exposure to the WoodmenLife organization by meeting weekly with the Internship Cohort, collectively with Executive Leadership, and one-on-one with leaders at the division level.Summarizes and presents capstone presentation of internship experience including project accomplishments, skill development, and key learnings.We need someone who has: Minimum Qualifications:Rising Sophomore, Junior or Senior in college with area of study in Actuarial ScienceWorking toward ASA certification, with at least one SOA exam completedMust have a 3.0 or higher GPAAbility to work 38.75 hours per weekProficient computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office and experience with spreadsheet, database, and word processing softwareExposure to programming solutions, such as Python, R, VB, SQL, or comparable languageThe ability to provide seamless, trustworthy, attentive, and resourceful (S.T.A.R.) customer service.Passion for making an impact in local communitiesAccountability: Takes ownership of decisions and responsibilities, follows through on commitments, prioritizes tasks effectively, and builds trust through reliability, integrity, and problem resolution.Communicated Effectively: Clearly and promptly shares information with others, actively listens for understanding, and delivers concise verbal and written communication to internal and external stakeholdersInnovation: Generates and shares creative ideas that improve processes and add value. Demonstrates open-mindedness, resourcefulness, and a willingness to explore new approaches.Projects are sourced across the Product Development, Inforce Management, and Valuation Teams and would be solidified closer to the internship.
